Appointment of Rupesh Kumar unnerves Pappa's loyalists in BJP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12: Following the formal announcement about Rupesh Kumar replacing Ramesh Pappa as Prant Pracharak of Jammu and Kashmir, as already predicted by the Early Times three days ago, all eyes are now set on the possible changes in power equations within BJP circles. The appointment of Rupesh Kumar has set a cat among the Ramesh Pappa's loyalists BJP Ministers as well as the senior party functionaries, who were calling the shots for the past three years. According to the reliable sources in Sangh Parivar, the new Prant Pracharak is likely to clip wings of some high profile BJP ministers, who were allegedly taking undue benefit of their proximity with Ramesh Pappa, who has been now assigned the responsibility of Sah-Prachar Pramukh in the RSS central body. Some BJP ministers are being dubbed as outsiders in the party because of their non-RSS background and are being given less weightage in organizational affairs. They are likely to have more say now as sources said that Rupesh Kumar is considered to be more close to those disliked by Ramesh Pappa. Sources said that not only the minister but a few powerful BJP office bearers are also likely to be shown their place on the basis of performance. Besides the new alignments, the election of new State BJP president is also likely to have a different scenario. The man tipped to be new State president of BJP is now understood to be not the favourite RSS man. |
