| GDC hostel inmates stage protest, allege poor living conditions in premises | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Mar 29: Alleging poor living conditions in the hostel premises of Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua, a large number of students staged a strong protest on Thursday in order to seek attention of the college administration.
The protesting students alleged that that the college administration has miserably failed to ensure them adequate water and electricity supply besides the quality of food served in the hostel mess was of poor quality and unhygienic.
Dozens of GDC Kathua hostel inmates staged a protest outside the college and blocked the ever busy Kathua-Kalibari road for at least one hour alleging that they don't get proper water supply and electricity supply while the food served was of poor quality.
Protesting hostel inmates said that the water supply is stopped for the last one but the college as well as the hostel administration has turned a blind eye to all this. The Hostel Warden though tried to pacify the agitating hostel inmates but his to convince the students went in vain.
After getting the information of the road blockage by the protesting students, the principal of the college Kartar Chand met them and noted their complaints. After listening to their complaints, Principal assured the students that their demands will be addressed soon. |
