Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 29: Jammu and Kashmir High Court quashed detention order under Public Safety Act of five detainees, three of them from Baramulla and one each from and Kupwara districts of Kashmir. Justice MK Hanjura while deciding five different petitions observed that a citizen cannot be deprived of personal liberty, guaranteed to him/her by the Constitution and of which, he/she cannot be deprived except in due course of law and for the purposes sanctioned by law. With these observations High Court ordered that order of detention order passed by the Respondent No.2/District Magistrate, Baramulla, is quashed with a further direction to the respondents to release the person of Zahoor Ahmad Lone S/o Late Mohammad Subhan Lone R/o Tantary Pora, Palhallan, District Baramulla, forthwith from the preventive custody, if not required in any other case. Order of detention passed by District Magistrate, Kupwara, is quashed with a further direction to the respondents to release the person of Javid Ahmad Lone S/o Ab. Rahim Lone R/o Shallapora, Langate, District Kupwara, forthwith from the preventive custody, if not required in any other case. Order of detention passed by the respondent No.3 - District Magistrate, Baramulla, is quashed with a further direction to the respondents to release the person of Shabir Ahmad Malik S/O Abdul Jabar Malik R/O Sangrama, , Faisal Manzoor Dar @ Fasoo S/o Manzoor Ahmad Dar R/o Noor Mohalla, Khawjabagh, Baramulla, District Baramulla, Manzoor ahmad Ganaie S/o Habib Ullah Ganie R/o Nowpora, Payeen, Tehsil Litter, District Pulwama, forthwith from the preventive custody, if not required in any other case. |
