| AJKDSF will work for upliftment of downtrodden: Dalit leaders | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 8: All J&K Dalit Samaj Forum (AJKDSF) organized a press conference at Guru Ravi Dass Complex near Guru Ravi Dass Mandir at Rajpura Jammu. While addressing the media persons, the Dalit leaders including Romesh Angurana, Ashok Jogi, Vijay Mangotra, Dr Om Parkash Bhagat, Dev Raj Angral and VK Loach highlighted the aims and objectives behind the formation of All J&K Dalit Samaj. Dalit leaders exhorted that main aim behind the formation of Forum is to educate Dalit Samaj about the life and teachings of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar and also to work for the upliftment of Dalit Samaj as well as downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. The Forum would also approach Social Welfare Department for releasing of scholarship of SC/ST students who has not been paid scholarship since last 3-4 years. Dalit Forum would also come forward to extend moral/financial support to the brilliant students of the Dalit Samaj.
Dalit leaders also stressed upon the Samaj to provide better education to their children so that they could come at par with the students of general category students. |
