With no implementation on ground, BJP's resolutions mere empty recurring | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 8: It has become a routine for the ruling party to pass resolutions two to three times in a year without any implementation on the ground. The last week in its state executive committee meeting, the BJP passed resolutions and its leaders claimed that they would ensure their implementations. In the resolutions, BJP said that it wants that issues of delimitation of assembly constituencies, West Pakistan refugees, Kashmiri pandits and other minorities, rotation of reserved seats, holding of panchayat and urban local bodies' polls should be taken on priority. The party expressed concern on "systematic illegal settlement" of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jammu, which BJP said was against "national interest". However, one look at the past resolutions reveals that exercise has been nothing beyond empty recurring. In August last year, the BJP similarly passed several resolutions, reiterating that the alliance government in J&K State was working for the equitable development of all regions of the state, and more importantly for integration of the state to national mainstream. "The adoption of the GST by the state government, through Constitutional Amendment, has ushered the economic integration of the state with rest of the country. It is a resolve of the BJP that all beneficial amendments in Constitution of India should be adopted by the state," the BJP resolution reads. "Pak sponsored terrorism in Kashmir, has entered into a new phase. Money is being used freely to keep the pot boiling," it says. The BJP in the resolution had claimed that the "growing radicalization" in Kashmir, "widespread use of religious places for instigation, disruption of the operations of security forces by local population and shrinking space for nationalists" was a cause of concern. The resolution said that the party's working committee has appealed the civil society of Kashmir to defeat the "nefarious designs of anti-national forces". This has also been included in the recent resolution passed last week. It said that the working committee members deplore the anti-national role of the separatists in fueling terrorism as well as their involvement in hawala transactions for terror funding. All these resolutions seem to be confined to papers only. "BJP passes resolutions but there is no implementation," a BJP leader said. "Most of the points are repeated because BJP is not making any efforts to press the government to accept these resolutions despite being part of the coalition," a senior BJP leader added. |
