Despite Governor's directions, authorities not interested to implement 2008 Amarnath agreement | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 8: Even as Governor N N Vohra has set April 24 as deadline to implement Amarnath land row agreement, PDP-BJP government has not shown any interest in this regard, thanks to infighting among BJP ministers who are more concerned about their own petty interests. Credible sources in the corridors of power said that despite directions by the Governor, authorities have not taken any initiative so far because there is no direction from the side of government in this regard. "Bureaucracy is very much aware that BJP ministers are least concern about implementing the agreement and PDP has no business in this so officers are adopting lacklustre approach", sources said and added that some RSS leaders had earlier raised this issue but they were also 'pacified' by BJP ministers through different means. Important to mention here that on April 4 Governor N N Vohra had set April 24 deadline for Jammu and Kashmir govt to implement Amarnath land-row agreement. The governor had directed the administration to expedite the processes required for fulfilling various elements of the agreement reached with the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti in 2008 and asked for a compliance report later this month.
