CM puts BJP on task to ensure Jammu Bandh fizzles out | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 8: The Chief Minister has reportedly asked the BJP to ensure that the Jammu Bandh call given by Bar Association, supported by civil society groups is not successful. The CM has also reportedly designated some key officials on this task. According to sources, the Chief Minister is extremely unhappy with the call for Jammu bandh given by the J&K Bar Association Jammu. "The CM wants BJP to ensure that Bandh is not successful. She has reportedly communicated that the call will not go against her but could strain the relations between coalition partners and asked it to ensure that bandh doesn't get the support," said the top official. Sources said that BJP has been tasked to reach out the people who are supporting the Bandh and isolate a section of the Bar Asssociaiton which clearly doesn't have affiliation with the Congress. The sources said that CM has also told the BJP that Bandh call if it turns out successful could find repercussion in the valley. "It's because of the CM's pressure that the state unit of the BJP didn't come up openly in the support of the Rasana incident and it just didn't support the demand for the CBI inquiry. The CM is now asking the BJP to take this step also and it seems that BJP will not decline it too," said the sources. The sources said that the CM has also asked the top officials to ensure that the Bandh call doesn't get any response. "Key officials have been tasked to reach out to the transporters and also the business community to ensure that they don't support bandh call. The officials can arms twist some among these two associations and it will have backing of the CM," said the official. |
