On June 22, 2017 a fire broke out into the accounts room of Block Development Officer's office during the late evening at 10:30 pm the incident was ordered to be inquired by the then DDC Poonch Tariq Aziz Zangen lent till date no breakthtough was there in the matter source said. Some unconfirmed source claimed that the fire was a delebrate attempt of sabotage to destroy the MGNREGA works record of 35 panchayats falling in the Mendhar block as the watch man willayat Husain had said at that point of time there was total power shut down in the area as he rubbished the claim of some employee that the incident was due to any power short circuit they added. Local social activist Mushtaq Ahmed urged the DDC Poonch Aijaz Asad to take steps to start enquiry into the matter as it was a serious case as involvement of employees on the fire incident to destroy the record of MGNREGA works cannot be ruled out. |
