Terrorists from 16-18 nations active in Kashmir | Omar Abdullah speaks the truth | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24: Omar Abdullah has finally spoken the truth. He has called the bluff of Pakistan and its agents in Kashmir like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who had been claiming that the ongoing secessionist violence in Kashmir had nothing to do with any foreign hand and that it was a political movement unleashed by local people of Kashmir to force New Delhi to resolve it politically. Omar Abdullah is NC working president and he in alliance with the Congress ruled J&K from 2009 to 2014. He also held the Home portfolio. Calling the bluff of Pakistan and separatists like Geelani, Omar Abdullah said that it was a fact that bulk of people fighting were from Kashmir, but it was also a fact that militants from 16 to 18 nations were also caught or killed in J&K. "The bulk of people fighting are from Kashmir, but from the last count we had about 16 or 18 nationalities of people caught or killed in Jammu and Kashmir," Omar Abdullah was quoted as saying. He added that "we had (in J&K) people (militants) from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Sudan, the United Kingdom and a few other countries that I wouldn't list out here". Omar Abdullah didn't make this statement in J&K; he made this statement at the University of California, Berkeley last week. Actually, he was making a presentation on the topic: "The path forward in Kashmir", where he faced embarrassment when a few internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus called him, his father and grandfather "war criminals" and threatened that they would go to the International Court of Justice against the Abdullahs and seek justice for the internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindu community. Omar Abdullah not only revealed that militants from 16 to 18 nations were involved in the ongoing (anti-India) movement in J&K, but also admitted that efforts were on to convert the (so0called) political movement into a religious struggle. He acknowledged the "introduction of 'elements of religious' struggle" and also highlighted the recent cases of Muslim youth from Telangana and Assam joining militant ranks in Kashmir. "(They) came to J&K to become a part of the militant uprising, not because of the political struggle but because of an identification of themselves as part of the Muslim struggle that needs to be waged," he said. He described it as a "very significant change" and warned that "he believed it would have grave implications". Now that Omar Abdullah has revealed the truth, it is time for the powers-that-be in New Delhi to educate international opinion about the nature of the ongoing movement in Kashmir. It is a must to expose the forces working against the unity and integrity of India and seeking another communal partition of the country. |
