'Non-existent' JK cabinet meets, takes important decisions

Early Times Report
srinagar, Apr 24: The cabinet of Jammu & Kashmir met at Jammu, the winter capital of the state and took some decisions. However, the million dollar question is that how relevant are the decisions since some ministers resigned few days back.
Last week all the ministers of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in the Peoples Democratic Party and BJP coalition government submitted their resignation to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. The party leaders maintained that the resignations have been submitted in order to facilitate the reshuffle in the state cabinet.
Since the reshuffle of the cabinet has not taken place so far one fails to understand how the cabinet meet took place today at Jammu. As such the decisions taken by the cabinet have come under a cloud. Only the people at helm can give an answer with regard to the credibility of decisions taken by the cabinet.
After few days of the resignation of BJP ministers Chaudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga, the CM assigned the portfolios of these ministers to Deputy Chief Minister. If that was the case then what was the fun for the BJP ministers from their respective ministries.
Singh and Ganga resigned from the government after they took part in a rally organized by Hindu Ekta Manch in Kathua. The rally was held in support of the persons alleged to be involved in the rape and murder of an eight year old nomad girl at Rassana in the Kathua district.
Although, some of the BJP ministers said that nobody from the party has resigned, the confirmation about the resignation was made by a top notch office bearer in the party. Later on it transpired that General Secretary of BJP Ram Madhav had asked the party ministers to resign in order to pave the way for cabinet reshuffle.
Some of the reports suggested that few BJP ministers might be dropped since their performance has not been up to the mark ever since the PDP-BJP government assumed saddle of the state in March 2015. The under-performing ministers of the party have turned nervous since they are on radar and may be shown the door by the party high command.
Some of the important office bearers of state unit of BJP have been camping in the union capital for the past few days with regard to cabinet reshuffle. Hectic deliberations have been going on with respect to the cabinet reshuffle and the reshuffle in the Jammu & Kashmir cabinet might take place over the next few days.
During all this whole process the cabinet met today and took some important decisions. These include implementing the recommendations of seventh pay commission for the state government employees and pensioners. The cabinet also approved the he Jammu and Kashmir Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018 and the Jammu and Kashmir Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Ordinance, 2018.
