Lodges protest against assault on party activist by cop
AAP deputation calls on IGP Jammu
5/1/2018 11:23:27 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 1: A deputation of senior AAP leaders today called on IGP, Jammu as well as SSP Jammu and lodged strong protest about the high handedness and assault on a senior AAP activist Ram Paul Khajuria- a retired official of Irrigation department by one Romesh Lal, a serving constable in Police Station Arnia, district Jammu
The deputation told the senior police officers that Romesh Lal's brother Madan Lal also joined him in the assault and threatened Khajuria of dire consequences in case he does not stop the political activities of AAP in the area as the victim Ram Paul Khajuria had organized a big public meeting in the village in which senior AAP leaders from Punjab had participated. The deputation demanded immediate transfer and departmental action against the accused police constable Romesh Lal.
The victim Mr. Ram Paul Khajuria, who has also contested election as an independent candidate from Bishnah Assembly Constituency in 2015, was badly thrashed by the duo brothers, reported the matter to the SHO Police Station Bishnah but apparently no action has been initiated by the police as the accused also happens to be a police official. The IGP gave a patient hearing to the deputation and immediately rang up the concerned Police official for taking appropriate action against the delinquent under intimation to him. He further asked to report to him within 2/3 days about the outcome.
