5/2/2018 12:52:38 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 1: Former Minister and Chairman National Conference (NC) Schedule Castes and Backward Classes Cell, Babu Ram Paul said that rights of the labour class needs protection. Chairman of the SC/BC Cell made the above statement while addressing people who have gathered to mark the 'International Labour Day' at party office this afternoon. Speaking on the occasion Babu Ram Paul said that the labourers are the most oppressed class in the society hence their rights should be protected by the employers. While elaborating Babu Ram Paul said that during the early days of the industrialization, the industrialists, used to exploit the workers through various means.
He said that workers were forced to work for fifteen hours and were paid meager wages. He said that it was the violation of the human rights as they did not get sufficient time for rest and family. Babu Ram Paul appreciated those who started the movement for the rights of the labourers and today we are celebrating the 'May Day'. He said even in the present time continuous efforts are made on and off to exploit the labo-urers in industries and other workplaces.
He said that the labourers in India are working in hazardous conditions and without proper safety kits. He urged upon the various labour unions to guide labourers properly and work for their safety first as the life of humans is precious and nobody can compensate the same.
