Jammu, May 21: Jang S. Verman, a senior artist and columnist on Art & Culture participated in a seminar organized by Society for Prabal Pramanik Academy of Arts, Bhamlada, Dalhousie Road, in district Pathankot on the subject 'Traditional and Contemporary Art'. The seminar was held in the conference hall of Bhuri Singh Museum, Chamba where Dev Badotra, a writer and artist from Chamba was the chief guest on this occasion. The seminar was dedicated to Late Prabal Pramanik, a painter, paper cutting Ustaad, musician and a poet in who established the Academy of Arts on the Highway between Pathankot and Dalhousie. While speaking on this occasion Badotra said that though Chamba had a glorious past in respect of art and culture but now it is not in respect of art pursuits. 'That has been caused by the fact that Chamba is living in isolation of thought of art.' he said. |
