Jammu, May 21: Need based casual labourers of Power Development Department (PDD) on Tuesday organised a protest under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front. Hundreds of need based casual labourers assembled in front Chief Engineer Jammu and raised slogans for release of their pending wages for years together.
While addressing the Akhil Sharma, president, PDD Casual Labourer's Union, while speaking on the occasion, said that about 3405 casual workers of PDD are suffering badly due to non-payment of wages. He also reiterated the demand of immediate implementation of SRO 520 and SRO 381 of PDD.
Other union leaders who addressed the gathering were Ashish Verma, Kabir, Bashir Ahmed, Sher Singh, Niaz, Anil Kumar, Gurmail Singh and Sham Lal. |
