Jammu, May 21: Amidst persistent cross border firing, an explosive environment when the youth in the border areas J&K State is increasingly falling prey to vicious inimical propaganda and lured to drugs, crime and other evil paths of their self destruction, the Director Sainik Welfare Department, J&K has taken a grand initiative to put the young lives on the right track of nation building. In a continued programme to provide counseling at the door steps a counseling cum coaching session was organized at Army Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu in co-ordination with the local army authorities in the RS Pura sector.
The education of youth has been greatly affected adversely in the border villages due to continued unprovoked cross border firing by Pakistan. The schools have remained closed and the idle youth is being lured to drug menace and other evils.
In such disastrous conditions Director Sainik Welfare Brig Harcharan Singh, VSM has undertaken a great act of human and national service by organizing one day counseling for the border youth to join the armed forces. The event is organized in collaboration with two war veterans with long experience of service on the army/ navy, services selection board. |
