KPC warns removal of encroachment of KP properties | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 4: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has strongly condemned the encroachment of properties belonging to different KP families as well as temples and shrines in Kashmir valley. It has asked the state government to vacate the encroachments. Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC stated that many unscrupulous people from the majority community have taken full advantage of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir and encroached the properties of displaced Kashmiri Pandits as well as of temples, shrines and other religious places of the community. "The latest such happening has taken place at Rangar, Chadura-Badgam, where politicians as well as government is involved to help the encroachers as well as at Jwala Ji Asthpan at Khrew Kashmir, where some people from the majority community have encroached upon the temple land and are making efforts to fence the same land for the purpose of using it as a graveyard," said Kundan. The President KPC said that after mass migration of KPs from valley 85,749 Kanals of land and 10155 structures belonging to the community members were left behind in Kashmir valley. He said the government has failed to protect these properties from encroachers. He said that more than 200 complaints of encroachment stand registered in the offices of Deputy Commissioners of ten districts of Kashmir division but government seems least bothered. |
