Indoor stadium in Udhampur still incomplete | Players forced to play in rented hall | | Arun Jasrotia Early Times Report Udhampur June 14:-The much-hyped project to promote games and sports in the district udhampur has drawn flak from the sportspersons of the town as the construction of the only multi purpose hall of the town that started in 2013 has yet not completed despite missing several deadlines. Table Tennis Player of Udhampur district who have participated in the national championships have been forced to practice in a Private hall and pay hefty amount for that. Tarun, a Table Tennis player said that it is the matter of shame that after 5 yrs Indoor sports Complex Udhampur has yet to be completed. He said that from last 6-7 years players are practicing in private rented hall and paying hefty amount to the land lord. He blamed the State Govt, Sports council & local representative for delay in this project. Harshit Ramotra and Sourab Sharma, national table tennis players echoed the sentiments expressed by his fellow player and demanded personal interference of the sports minister to get the hall completed at the earliest so that it can be made available to the players. |
