Ill-advised ceasefire proved counter- productive for nation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 14: The ill-advised ceasefire announced by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to keep Kashmir centric parties including separatist in good humour has ultimately proved counter-productive for the Indian state. This foolish decision of the Union Home Ministry has also demoralized security forces who have been fighting proxy war in Kashmir Valley. The ill-advised ceasefire has also consumed life of a prominent journalist Shujaat Bukhari on the last day of the holy month of Ramzan. As per record during the last one month, nearly 20 attacks executed by the security forces in which some security personnel have lost their lives. In the on-going Ramzan ceasefire of Union Home Ministry, nearly 50 persons have lost their lives including those who were killed on the border due to Pakistani firing. Without any homework, BJP government at the Centre had announced ceasefire in the holy month of Ramzan without caring concern of the security forces. Even Defence Minister and Chief of the Army Staff had opposed any such move but the Union Home Ministry was adamant to act on the directions of Independent MLA of Kashmir Engineer Rashid who had given the suggestion of announcing ceasefire in the month of Ramzan. Ramzan ceasefire would be listed in the history as one of the blunder committed by the BJP government at the Centre. Earlier similar blunder was committed by the previous BJP government headed by Atal Behari Vajpayee. |
