Villagers demands regular water supply, seek PHE Minister's intervention | | | Early Times Report kishtwar, June 14: The people of village Thaloran of Bhalessa of Gandoh Sub Division have rued the poor water supply in the areas and added that despite being densely populated area, the water supply in was not regular. Residents sent a detailed letter to PHE Minister seeking his intervention in addressing the issue pertaining to drinking water supply. They stated that water was provided in the village on alternative days; that too for short time. Sometimes the water supply is not made available to the people for days together" the people said. They said that the water supply is not enough for the people of this village and and natural sources that once existed have either dried up or the water is no more potable. They said that people have to fetch water from a long distance which is up to 4-6 KM in many case for which the people have to spend a lot of time in bringing water from the river stream. People rued that whenever they approach the officials of the PHE, they abuse them. "If action is not taken against the erring employees of PHE department, the people will come on the roads" they said and urged upon the concern authorities to look into the matter seriously and take necessary steps for solving the problem by ensuring daily water supply in the village. |
