Withdrawal of support from Govt belated decision of BJP: MPEJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 20: Kuldeep Kumar Rao , a senior member of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice said that though the people of Jammu are happy over the withdrawal of support from government by BJP, yet they strongly feel that the decision was much belated. They ought to have withdrawn at least one year earlier when their part of CMP was almost ignored while PDP pushed through theirs with full force & also cunningly. In case of Kathua rape cum murder case, the most genuine demand of Jammuites to hold a CBI inquiry was turned down by Chief Minister but the BJP ministers (leaving aside two) never stressed for it, let alone withdrawal from the government. This belated withdrawal is not much praise as it came about only because of compelling circumstances & not of their wisdom. Had they acted in time (withdrawal from government), the precious lives of the patriot Aurangzeb & of liberal journalist Dr. Shujaat Bukhari would have been saved. Rao further said that the people of Jammu province have never got what was their genuine due share in the socio-economic and political processes during all these more than 70 years of the state's accession to India. It is Jammu leadership that is responsible for the step-motherly treatment being meted out to the people of this Province, as also for the prevailing discontent in this region. |
