Sunderbani, June 20: Tehsil Sunderbani is allegedly being neglected with regards to distribution of power. The issue came to light when an assembly of people from Nahoti in Sunderbani tehsil lamented that PDD is providing the power supply only to some blue-eyed regularly while the poor are being made to suffer.
The reason has been found out to be the high handedness of Assistant Executive Engineer Ravi Kant who runs the department at his own whims and fancies.
People allege that he has been resorting to illegal means to supply uninterrupted power supply to his next of the kin as he is a local employee from the region while the others who are regular bill payers of the electricity in the area are being deprived of the services.
Yashpal and Rajinder Kumar from Nahoti alleged that Ravi Kant took personnel interest in erecting poles and wires to a newly constructed house of his kin at Sunderbani while the poor adjacent residents have been deprived of the electricity. They further alleged that despite having given applications to restore electricity in their area to the PDD as well as AEE Ravi Kant for past more than a year, no effort has been initiated.
When asked as to how he managed to procure poles and wires to the house of one of his kins , AEE Ravi Kant denied to have done the favour , but his immediate employee Junior engineer of the area said that it was on the directions of the AEE only that poles and wires were supplied to the house of his relative .
The AEE Ravi Kant has invited wrath of the people of Sunderbani who have asked the administration to remove the corrupt official and in his place an honest person. |
