| Street, mast lights remain on in Udhampur during the day | | |  Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, June 21: Udhampur Municipality keeps lights on during the day.
The passersby at Gole Market here told this reporter that the street lights are never switched off during day time.
"While the State is already facing power crisis, the Municipality should not do so," Gulshan Kumar, a retired army man said.
He further said that this is putting the State to losses.
Mohit Sharma, a social activist said that while there are many places in our State which await electrification.
Insiders in Udhampur Municipality informed that there is scarcity of staff and so the care of street lights are not properly being done.
It is pertinent to mention here that Udhampur Municipality remained in news for poor sanitation in the town etc.
The members of civil society here have appealed to the Governor to instruct the Udhampur Municipality to function properly. |
