Jammu, June 21: Already facing allegation of corruption in distribution advertisement, another scam is surfaced in the Department of Information and Public Relations. The new scam is relatated to swindling money while taking journalists to cover events of VIPs.
Credible sources said that during the visit of VIPs in Jammu region, it has become a routine in the department to hire buses to take journalists to the venue of the programme of VIPs but main aim of hiring buses is to mint money.
Credible sources said that the Department is taking plea of security concern to hire buses for the journalists. At every venue of VIPs's functions frisking journalists is a routine affairs so there is no logic to hire buses to carry journalist to such venue. Recently when Union Home Minister was in Jammu, he addressed a press conference in a hotel in the city. Even for that venue Information Department had hired buses to take journalist to venue. This decision of the Information Department has raised many eye-brows. Not only hiring buses is a scandal in the department, even meals proved into the journalist is also another scandal. |
