Third Front : A New Story To Write | | Sahil Bhat | 6/21/2018 10:28:19 PM |
| The road to 2019 Lok Sabha elections has already become talk of the town as to several news debates and print editorials. What makes it more feverous is the joint opposition juggernaut, rock-solid to battle the hardcore ideological beliefs. However, where it lacks is the unison ideology sharing the path of various course of actions which has earlier shaped as a flop show. Notwithstanding the framework of a complete tenure (collapsing in 2 mere years) is what its report card says. 1993 which celebrated V.P.Singh as prime minister later succeeded by Chandra Shekhar were all brought down when National Front tried to rope AIADMK and DMK in both, which led DMK to part ways. Later on in 1996 with United Front, that elevated H.D. Deve Gowda as the prime minister fall apart with lack of doctrine. We have robust titles - Samajwadi party, National Trimoonal Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Nationalist Congress Party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and other acclaiming its virtue, but there's always a fear of its to sink in the half way, as to the obvious several ideological divergence after elections, which later will leave a devastating out-turn to the nation. It had a fair share of money spent on advertisements, and one can also judge - it arrived in form of a change as people of India were sick and tired of scam sarkar or could not dare to bear its forehead candidate as Prime Minister. What could make BJP unstable is its own alliance with other regional forces. Shiv Sena have had issues with BJP, time and again which is quite conspicuous in the digs that its party supreme takes on PM. There is a Dalit trouble in Uttar Pradesh which could weaken its roots despite a majority mandate. No special status demand for Chandrababu Naidu (TDP) was met, which led him to scrap his ties from BJP. A joint opposition can easily thwart BJP but there are several parameters where it could fall flat. There is need of Prime Ministerial face which could coordinate them under one umbrella. What could make them strong is to highlight the discrepancies of centre and give essay descriptions on party feuds. Remember, before BJP emerged victorious there were many theories advocating instability but so far the inside feud has kept distances from familiarity. So, what's wrong with the Third Front but not at the cost of national security and interest. |
