Samba, July 4: An awareness camp under National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Hub Scheme was organized by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board at Samba today. The Dy. CEO, KVIB Jammu Division, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Dy. Registrar KVIB Jammu Division, Rohit Kashyap, District Officer KVIB Samba, Paramjeet Singh, District Manager SC ST Corporation, Manager J&K Bank, Manager Grameen Bank, a prominent citizen Jai Parkash were present in the function, besides a large number of people from SC ST community were also present. Dy. CEO, KVIB Jammu Division, Pawan Kumar Gupta, giving details of the scheme informed the gathering that to ensure the growth of the SC ST Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Government of India formulated a policy for MSMEs in 2012. He said according to this policy the total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries, Departments and Public sector undertakings shall be made from MSMEs and 4% of such procurement shall be made from MSMEs owned by SC ST entrepreneurs. Giving a detailed resume of Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) the flagship programme of KVIB, the Dy. CEO appealed to the SC ST unemployed youth to establish their own income generating units by availing the facilities being provided under PMEGP scheme. He disclosed that in the last financial year KVIB in Samba District established 93 units against the target of 50 units involving a Margin Money of RS. 193.53 lacs, thus providing employment to 457 persons, which is a all time high employment ever provided in the District under PMEGP scheme. He further informed that the KVIB in the current year up till now has established 47 units involving Margin Money of Rs. 136.12 lakh. |
