| Influential ARTO enjoys plum postings! | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 4: One Assistant Regional Transport Officer has been enjoying "plum" postings for the past four years due to alleged patronage of some ministers in the previous government.
Official sources said the ARTO who is presently posted in the Jammu district at a "lucrative office" had been enjoying "Ashirwad" of a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party who was also a minister in the previous government.
"Despite complaints against his conduct, he (RTO) was given prize postings at Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu as per his sweet will and wish as if there was no other official worth to be assigned such crucial posts," a group of officials from the office of the RTO told Early Times on the condition of anonymity.
The officials said what has come as a shocker is that the ARTO continues to call the shots even after the collapse of the alliance in the state.
Despite repeated attempts the official in question couldn't be contacted for comments.
Meanwhile the officials have appealed Governor NN Vohra to look into the matter. |
