| Students of JU Udhampur Campus deprived of bus facility | | Vehicle shifted to Jammu, driver's appointment under scanner | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 4: Jammu University administration has allegedly deprived the students of its Udhampur Campus of transportation facility and brought the only bus back to the main campus in Jammu advocating that it can't afford its expenses.
The bus meant for Udhampur campus reportedly met with an accident at Jammu leaving many seriously injured and raising the questions mark on the varsity administration. Moreover, another revelation has come to fore about the appointment of driver who was driving the bus which has also come under scanner. Sources told Early Times JU had already been facing severe criticism from students community of Udhmpur Campus for 'snatching' bus facility now the appointment of driver deployed for the bus has come under radar.
"Indifferent to the students' problems, the JU had shifted the bus from Udhampur to JU campus nearly 7-8 months ago by giving petty excuse of the not having funds for its operation and now illegality in the appointment of driver has come to the fore" said a student. Interestingly, the student divulged that the contact number imprinted on the bus for emergency was that of a contractual employee, who holds no responsible post in the JU hierarchy.
"Although during admission, the Udhampur Campus claimed that it provides bus facility to the students but now the bus was shifted to Jammu University which is an injustice to them," they said. |
