Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: Four persons, including two minors, trapped in flash floods, were rescued by police in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. Two women, along with their children, were crossing Ghordi nallah when suddenly flash floods occurred in the rivulet yesterday, a police official said. They took shelter on big boulders in the nallah and after getting information, police and locals rushed to the area and launched a rescue operation, he said. Jammu-Srinagar NH reopens for traffic hours after it was closed due to landslide The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway was reopened for traffic hours after it was closed today due to a landslide triggered by rains in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district. Police said, the highway was closed due to a landslide in Ramban's Panthal area this morning. Two-way traffic of light motor vehicles is plying on the highway, while heavy vehicles have been allowed only for one-way traffic from Kashmir to Jammu. |
