DPS Nagbani stages skit on Quit India Movement | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 9: Following the week long celebrations of Independence Day, DPS Nagbani celebrated 'Quit India Movement' with great enthusiasm. When Indians could not tolerate subjection to the British anymore, they launched 'The Quit India Movement'. It was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942 in protest against sending Indian troops to fight in World War II and demanding the immediate independence of India from the British. To commemorate 'Quit India Movement' a skit was presented by the students in the morning assembly. All the students played their roles effectively. They portrayed the actual roles of freedom fighters and paid respect to the on this momentous day. The students with their convincing performances recreated the scene of this day. Through their skit the importance of Quit India Movement which had led to the British leaving India and India attaining Independence on 15th August, 1947 was emphasized. The flawless performance of the students filled everyone's heart with patriotism. The students portrayed how this freedom movement helped our country to rise up against the British as a nation quite gracefully and their performance was highly appreciated. The Principal of the school R. K. Verma said that many leaders led this revolutionary movement. Many consequences and problems were faced. It is our prime duty to pay them heartfelt tribute and gratitude for their outstanding contributions. He concluded by quoting that 'We should strive to build an India where the seeds of hatred do not exist but hearts full of love and care are incarnated'. |
