Madhav meets PDP rebels, Sajad Lone | BJP leaders oppose alliance with Mehbooba | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 9: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) national general secretary Ram Madhav on Wednesday met at least four rebel leaders of PDP and the president of Peoples Conference Sajjad Lone. Sources told early times that Madhav met with rebel PDP legislators, Imran Reza Ansari, his uncle Abid Ansari, Abdul Majeed Padder, Yasir Reshi at Sajad Lon's Gupkar residence VIP-3. Sajad Lone and MLA Kupwara, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Dar were also present in the meeting. Earlier Madhav met top BJP leader's including Kavinder Gupta, Sunil Sharma, Ashok Koul, Dr Narender Singh at Kavinder Gupta's official residence in Srinagar to discuss the political situation of Jammu and Kashmir. Insiders revealed that BJP's national president Amit Shah is not interested to form government in this state before Parliamentary polls but Ram Madhav has adopted other line. Madhav wants to give a message to the highcommand that he is capable of stitching an alliance in J&K. They said the leaders during the meeting vehemently opposed any idea of cobbling an alliance with the party headed by Mehbooba Mufti. They however, stressed that since two more years were still left for the state assembly to complete its full term the formation of new government in Jammu and Kashmir had become inevitable and unavoidable and alliance can be cobbled minus Mehbooba. There is a possibility about PDP rebels joining hands with Lone and the BJP, which has 25 MLAs. They need 19 more to form the government. Pertinently, the Lone-led People's Conference has got only two MLAs. |
