Ineligible employees get accommodation
ED overlooks waiting list
8/9/2018 11:38:21 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 9: The Estate Department has been reportedly indulging in malpractice in allotting government accommodation to employees who are not eligible and ignoring the genuine employees who were in the waiting list since 2013.
Sources told Early Times that nearly two weeks ago over two dozen allotments were made by the Estate Department clandestinely.
"No formal order in this connection was issued. Moreover, no order has been uploaded on the department's website. It has been reported that some employees have got accommodations in connivance with officials," the sources said.
They said that some lower rung officials provided accommodations to the ineligible employees without any order and asked them to occupy the accommodations first and assured that the order will be given to them later.
Astonishingly, neither any official order of allotment was issued nor any order given to the employees who have been living without official permission.
When other employees who had been waiting for the last five years as per waiting list came to know about the matter, they lodged a complaint with the Grievance Cell. As a result the Governor's office took cognizance of the mater and directed the concerned department to hold inquiry submit a report within a fortnight.
Sources also informed that as per Estate Department's official website, no order regarding allotment of accommodation has been issued or uploaded on its portal for the last two months which creates suspicion.
"Those employees who have either recommendations from higher ups or grease palm of the officials get accommodations while rest of the employees are ignored. The official list of applicants who had applied in 2013 and uploaded on websites hardly changes, which means no accommodation provided. But actually accommodations are being provided by the department covertly," alleged sources.
