Legislative Council employees stage protest | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 3: The employees of J&K Legislative Council Secretariat have launched an agitation against the government order, regarding the appointment of the Secretary from legal services by ignoring its own special secretary. It is pertinent to mention here that both the wings of State Legislature, being autonomous bodies and Presiding Officers are fully competent to control the respective departments of the Legislature and make the promotions up to the rank of Special Secretary and appointment of the Secretary by Governor in consent with the Chairman as per the rules of the J&K Council Secretariat. "It is also a matter of fact that when Abdul Majid Bhat was posted as Secretary of Council Secretariat on the plea that the council secretariat doesn't have the posts of Special Secretary and Additional Secretary in the hierarchy and it was assured that hence forth the council secretariat shall have its own Secretary and despite of the assurance made by the then government on this account the appointment of Secretary has once again been made from the legal services which is a clear injustice with the council Secretariat employees who have been deprived of the promotion avenues", the protesters said in a press note. The press note further reads that they have issued the note in order to counter the baseless remarks so published which are far from reality. |
