Anti-national activities continue in Kashmir in Guv rule, too | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Not only under the previous PDP and NC regimes, but anti-national activities continue in Kashmir Valley even during the ongoing Governor's rule. For example, on Monday the administration allowed the press conference of National Alliance of People's Movement (NAPM), where the speakers made anti-national speeches. Sanjay Pandey, representative of NAPM, in his anti-national speech said, "The atrocities on people of Kashmir have increased over the years since the BJP came to the power at the Centre." He also expressed solidarity with people of Kashmir. "We feel Articles 35A and 370 should be properly implemented and the government of India should honour the promises it had made to people of Kashmir at the time of Accession. We support movement of Kashmir and people of the region have a right to decide their future." He said that Kashmir issue was a tripartite problem. "Any solution shall take into consideration the sentiments of people of Kashmiris. India and Pakistan need to reinitiate the process of dialogue towards resolving the Kashmir dispute," he said. He also welcomed the decision taken by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for opening the Kartarpur Sahib corridor. He asked New Delhi to cooperate in "de-escalation" of militarization of the subcontinent for creation of conducive atmosphere for dialogue. He claimed that "aggressive Hinduta' politics" has resulted in increased violent attacks on Dalits, Muslims, Christians especially on Kashmiris. "The glorification of this violence by ministers of BJP government and Hindutva brigade is a matter of concern," he said. He claimed that "unnecessary meddling" into affairs of autonomous institutions like CBI, RBI, Central Statistical Organisation by the BJP was eroding "whatever democracy exists in India". "Important authorities like Army Chief and Governor are being political used," he said. NAPM is organizing a 'Samvidhan Samman Yatra' throughout India and has reached Srinagar on December 2 for a four-day visit. The Yatra started on October 2 from Dandi, where Mahatma Gandhi had launched the salt Satyagraha, and will end on December 10, the international human rights day. |
