Weaker sections deprived of ABY, alleges Cong | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: Alleging gross irregularities in much publicized Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY), the state secretary of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Sumit Magotra said that a large number of economically weaker sections of the society are not covered in this scheme Addressing a press conference here today, Sumit Magotra said that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana launched by the Government of India has the provision of a medical claim of Rs 5 lakh as Medical Insurance of the economically weaker sections of the society but it is unfortunate that several high income and tax payee families are covered in this Yojana while the economically weaker are left out. Magotra further disclosed that it is provision in this scheme to cover 80% families of weaker section from rural areas and rest from urban slum. Congress leader also expressed that we have no problem with the genuine beneficiaries but our demand is to cover the maximum families of weaker sections of the society. He demanded that a fresh survey may be conducted to achieve the target of 30 lakh beneficiaries of the state as declared by the Union Government. |
