JAMMU, Dec 17: In connection with ongoing Kaifi Azmi's birth centenary celebrations held worldwide, noted Urdu poet of State, Dr. Liaqat Jafri is going to represent Jammu and Kashmir in Kuwait in an International Urdu Mushaira/Kavi Sammelan titled "Yaadgaar e Kaifi Azmi" on 21st of Dec 2018.
Earlier also in commencing year 2018 on Invitation of various literary organizations and Indian Embassy he was participated in series of International Urdu Mushairas held in Doha Qattar, Riyadh, Jaddah, Dammam, Jubail Sharjah and Dubai. Dr Jafri was also invited to Sahitya-Aajtak, an acclaimed literary activity few weeks ago. Author of half a dozen books in Urdu Dr. Jafri is a reputed editor of few Urdu Magazines also. He is belongs to Poonch, a city renowned for its outstanding contribution in Arts and Literature, an area already famous for writings of Krishan Chandar, Charagh Hasan Hasrat and Thakur Poonchi etc. An acclaimed Urdu poet of modern sensibility and techniques his stage performances are appreciated all across India. Recipient of few national awards for his outstanding contributions in the field of poetry, prose, theatre, journalism, film and Urdu activism, Liaqat Jafri is a noted Critic/Reviewer Teacher and Research Scholar as well. He remained convener of State-Level Committee for the promotion of Urdu Language in J&K for more than 5 years which was constituted by Government of Jammu and Kashmir in 2011-12. |
