Influential engineers call shots at GMCH Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 17: The administrative heads of the state government departments seem to have become "toothless tigers" who succumb under pulls and pressures to appease influential employees. Reliable sources of Mechanical Hospital & Central Heating Division Jammu (MH&CH) informed Early Times that few engineers have been overstaying at Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for the past five years. They said that in the middle of this year concerned Chief Engineer issued transfer orders of many engineers from one division to the other. Many engineers had not completed their two year stint at their respective places of posting, sources said, adding that the overstaying engineers were also transferred but astoundingly in violation of transfer rules they managed to get their transfer orders modified within a month. Sources said, "Higher ups succumbed under pressure and modified the transfer orders of the influential engineers." As per the Transfer Policy 2010 rules , the minimum tenure of a an employee at one station shall be two years and a maximum three years but the rules were thrown to winds at MH&CH division of GMC Jammu. Despite repeated attempts XEN MH&CH could not be contacted for his comments. |
