ICPS organises awareness programme on JJ Act, child rights, 1098 childline services

Kishtwar, Feb 24: Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) unit Kishtwar today organised the awareness cum training programme in a private institute at Kishtwar on the Child Rights, implementation of ICPS and JJ Act in Jammu and Kashmir.
While speaking on the occasion, Mohan Lal Thakur (Chairperson CWC Kishtwar) educated the participants about the Juvenile Justice System and focused on child rights viz a viz Juvenile in Cconflict with Law and Child in Need of Care and Protection.
He said advised the students / participants who were below 18 years not to derive vehicles without holding driving licences in their hands .
He said that the have entire life to ride bikes after completing the required age of getting driving licence from concerned department.
During question answer session, the participants gave assurance to (CWC Chairperson) that they would not ply two Wheeler or Car on road till they complete 18 years of age and that too after getting due driving License.
On the occasion, Protection Officer (DCPU, ICPS Kishtwar) Touseef Iqbal Butt, enlightened the participants about the structure of ICPS including it's three units like District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvinile Justice Board (JJB).
He said that the Juvenile have their own rights in society which they (Children's) must be sensitized.
While sensitizing the participants, Mr. Butt informed the participants that the Governmentof India have already launched the Child line number (1098) for the registration of child related complaints/informations,he said and advised the participants that they also should participate actively for the betterment of children's in society by producing or registering information before Child Welfare Committee Kishtwar regarding the child labour,Child abuse, drug abuse and other issues related to child,he added.
In the end, Javed Ahmed Zarger (Member CWC Kishtwar) presented vote of thanks.
