As per the details available with ET, 65 year old Abdul Karim Khan Resident of Figsoo Tehsil in Thatri Sub Division of Doda District died at GMC Jammu during intervening night of Friday and Saturday leaving behind his wife and three veiling sons by his side. After doctors at GMC declared Abdul Karim dead, his three sons requested the hospital authorities to provide them the ambulance for shifting the dead body of their father to their native place, but same was refused to them forcing them to shift the dead body in a tempo traveler. He said that despite repeated requests for the help, no one from Doda administration came forward for their help as the road was partially closed they were force to clear the boulders on road to pave way for the tempo traveler that carried the dead body of their father. He said that at Jathi, the landslide was heavy and it took them several hours to clear the boulders from the road. A relative of the deceased said that the government claims with regard to availability of the services for the poor people are merely hollow slogans and added the poor people were left at the mercy of the God as is in this instant case wherein hospital authorities even did not show any respect towards dead body by denying ambulance to the family. |
