The encounter broke out in the afternoon on Sunday after the joint team of Indian Army, CRPF and Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a search and cordon operation over a tip-off about 2-3 terrorists hiding in the region. The operation comes a few days after the dastardly Pulwama terror attack in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed after a JeM ultra Adil Ahmad Dar rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus of the convoy of the security forces on February 14. |
