| NMC appeals PM to implement recommendations of ALC | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to fully implement the recommendations of the Ashok Lavasa Committee constituted to enhance and rationalize the pay bands to lower categories employees of central and state government departments. Shastri made a plea that decision regarding the implementation of these recommendations should be taken before the model code of conduct for general elections gets enforced. "Central and state government employees from the core of rising segment of India's 44% population political parties can hardly afford to ignore this segment as it is the middle class that will be a consequential factor in driving change. We request the Prime Minister to take a decision in this regard, "Shastri said this while addressing a meeting of NMC activists here. Pleading the cause of state Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri further appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to release 3% DA due from January 1,2019 to state Govt. employees and pensioners, so that these categories would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation. While appreciating the earlier decision regarding prompt release of DA, Shastri also hoped that governor administration will continue to be first one to implement payment of DA in any state Govt. in the country. |
