Bharti Sharma Provincial Joint Secretary of National Conference and Ex MLC Subash Gupta on behalf of Congress jointly addressed the meeting and appealed workers to work with unity for the Victory of Congress party candidate. Bharti Sharma in his address said that BJP Government failed to provide any relief to the affected people with the firing across the border especially of Hiranagar sector. He said BJP only created lot of controversies and hatreds between different regions and sections of the state, in view of their contradictory and narrow politics. He said that at the time of forming coalition BJP had claimed that this coalition would bring the regions closure and bring about massive financial support from the centre but it has miserably failed on both these fronts as a result people of three regions are suffering. Bharti Sharma appealed party activists to vote and support Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh to keep the secular fabric of the country alive. Congress leader Subash Gupta asked the party workers and the people to maintain the traditional brotherhood at all costs and defeat the mischievous designs of some elements in this border belt from across the border and threat posed by the communal and divisive forces in the state. He said that people of Hiranagar have suffered a lot during three wars in the past and the proxy war by Pakistan but always maintained communal harmony in the area. He claimed that Congress alone can ensure equitable development of all three regions with special attention towards the neglected, remote, and backward areas of the state. He asked party activists to put their all efforts to make the win of Vikramaditya Singh definite. |
