Udhampur, Apr 4: Landslides along the national highway has posed threat to a number of residential houses at Narsoo area of District Udhampur. There is no denying the fact that widening of the highway has eased the journey but at the same time it has put residential houses and the people living in them to risk, said the locals. At Narsoo area of District Udhampur on National Highway Execution work damage many houses, farm land but district administration as well as the Company failed to provide any compensation or relief to the victims forcing them to spend chilly nights in tents, the locals said. Hamid Khan, a victim said that due to the execution work, our three houses suffered damage and we had to live in tents for six months. "Nobody has turned up with help to this day," he said. Hajji Mohammad Naib Sarpanch Narsoo said that the issue was taken up with the authorities a number of times but all in vain. |
