Rassana incident likely to be proved costly for BJP; Lal Singh exploiting case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4: Failure of BJP leaders to handover infamous Rassana case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to prove costly for the party on Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha constituency because family members of the some of the accused have started campaign against the party candidate and Union Minister Dr Jatinder Singh. Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party candidate and former minister Chowdhary Lal Singh in every public meeting in Kathua district is trying to expose BJP leaders on this issue. Singh is trying to give a message to the people that BJP leaders including Union Minister Dr Jatinder Singh had failed to take stand on this issue due to their lust for power. The BJP ministers in the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti had shamelessly submitted before PDP leadership on this issue, Dr Jitendra Singh, who is Union Minister and had power to hand over this case to CBI, too failed to fulfill demand of the people of Kathua in particular and Jammu region in general. As Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Jitendra Singh had power to handover this case to CBI but he failed to take stand because his priorities were entirely different. Chowdhary Lal Singh, on the other hand, has been agitating for CBI probe from April 13, 2018 when he was forced to resign from the council of ministers for demanding CBI probe into this incident. Lal Singh has also involved family members of some of the accused to make the issue alive in the on-going campaign to expose BJP. |
