Gang of inter-state drug smugglers busted, 210 kg poppy straw recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4: Continuing its drive against drugs, Special Operation Group (SOG) Jammu achieved a major success by recovering 210 Kilograms of poppy straw at Dayalachak Dinga Amb Road near Sallan under the jurisdiction of Police Station Hiranagar, this afternoon. Police spokesman said that SOG Jammu raised a special naka at Sallan with the sleuths of Hiranagar polive station. "A truck bearing registration number PB08CX-9892 was intercepted which was coming from Kashmir towards Punjab and cops detained the (drive and Conductor of the vehicle) narcotic smuggler who were smuggling the above contraband in the truck which was concealed in six bags in the rear side of the truck," said spokesman Police identified them as Jorawar Singh of Village Behram Sarishta, Distt Jallandhar, presently staying at Hoshiyarpur near Naveen Public School and Conductor - Dheeraj Kumar of Village Dhilwan, Mohalla - Sundar. A case under FIR No. 42 /2019 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Hiranagar police station. The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu Sandeep Mehta and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Kathua Sridhar Patil. Further investigation into the case was going on in Hiranagar police station. |
