JAMMU, Apr 4: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra participated in the All India University (AIU) Kick boxing Championship organized by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam which was scheduled from 8th- 11th March, 2019.
SMVDU Boys and Girls team participated in the event bagged two bronze medals. It was a knock out tournament. Sandeep won the Bronze medal in below 84 Kg weight category. Similarly in below 60 Kg weight category for women Pooja won bronze medal for the University. Total five students including 3 boys and 2 girls participated from the University. Coach Balbir Singh accompanied the team for the said event. The coaching for kick boxing was provided by Sucha Singh, Sports Coach and Sumit Sharma.
Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, congratulated the winners for their performance and hoped for these kinds of achievements in future also.
