It is not everyday that a person gets to see exemplary kindness and innocence, especially considering the hectic lifestyle taken by many. But this young boy, six years old to be precise, definitely restored "faith in humanity".
On April 2, Derek C Lalchhanhima accidentally ran over his neighbour's chicken with his bicycle. Distraught by the situation, the young boy, with all the money he had (which was Rs 10), headed to the nearest hospital in the hope of treating the bird. The boy was soon pictured asking for help, with a Rs 10 note in one hand and the chicken on the other.
Although the bird did not survive, the post by Facebook user 'Sanga Says', which brought the young boy's heartwarming act to the spotlight, soon went viral. The post gained over 100,000 likes and 11,000 comments.
