Jammu, May 7: Members of NGO " Jiyo aur jeene do " organized a programme to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary poet , social reformer , freedom fighter Ravindernath Tagore. While speaking in the programme , the President Tariq Shah said "Today we have celebrated the birth anniversary of Ravindra nath Tagore who was a great poet, social reformer and a freedom fighter as well. He not only fought against many social evils prevalent in the society but also took a stand against the British government.He refused to accept the title 'Sir ' as a mark of respect for the martyrs of Jallianvala Bagh massacre. Our national anthem is creation of this great son of soil. Now in present scenario in order to strengthen democracy this is very important to remember and follow teachings of such great personalities. Moreover we greet each and everyone on the onset if Holy month of Ramzan. May this sacred month brings peace in the entire world . Also we wish each and everyone on the auspicious ocassion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti ." Along with president, the members Anju Devi, Sanjeet, Rakesh Kumar, Sahil, Aquib, Pavan, Talib Wani, Akhter and others were present. |
