Influential lobbying trying to install 'inefficient' outsider as VC SKUAST-J | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: After installing their 'own men' as vice chancellors of various universities, some influential people within BJP and Sangh Parivar have started hectic lobbying for appointing their own man as vice chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultrual Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu. These influential people are trying to appoint some outsiders as Vice Chancellor at the cost of deserving local candidates. SKUAST Jammu in the only university of the State which never has a local Vice Chancellor because those remained in the power always managed appointment of outsider due to pressure from different quarters. A search committee for drawing panel of names for the post of vice chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology was constituted by the state government in January 2019. The committee submitted a panel of shortlisted listed candidates to the government on April 7, 2019. The probable agricultural scientists shortlisted include Dr N S Rathore, Dr A K Shrivastava, Dr NP Singh , among others. Credible sources said that these influential persons are lobbying for an outsider who was earlier removed from the same post in the year 2014 from a university outside J&K. He was also rejected for the post of Director General ICAR and chairman Agriculture Service Recruitment Board Government of India but this influential lobbying is trying its best to install him at Jammu. |
