Workshop on cyber-crimes, cyber laws begins | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 7: A two-day long workshop on ‘Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws’ organized by The Law School, University of Jammu in collaboration with Advanced Centre on Research, Development and Training in Cyber Laws & Forensics, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru began here today. Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the chief guest on the occasion in his address complimented Prof Arvind Jasrotia for organizing workshop of great significance and emphasized on the importance of cyber safety in the wake of developments in digital technology. He said that as cyber law is a necessity to both lawyers and general public, its awareness is equally important owing to the modifications and new interpretations. Dr A Nagarathna, NLSIU, Bengaluru, the guest of honor in her introductory address and lecture set the tone for the workshop and underlined the varied issues which are going to be covered in the two day workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to make students aware about cybercrimes, interface of law and technology, investigation of cyber-crimes, facets of cyber space and related laws. The workshop will focus on issue and challenges in cyberspace and how the same is to be regulated by the rule of law. The workshop is being attended by over 150 students from the Faculty of law and other department. |
