Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 7: In a shocking development, a Kashmiri Molvi has accused the Kashmiri girls of moral waywardness saying that thousands of them use contraceptives pills triggering outrage with people seeking strict action against him.
In a video clip that has surfaced on social media websites the Molvi is seen saying that immoral activities take place in cars and that around 18,000 girls from two particular districts alone were contraceptives.
The Molvi is said to have made the shocking revelations while addressing a religious congregation in Kashmir.
Citing example, the Molvi said some persons had caught a couple in compromising position in Nishat area in a car and that the two had finally apologized.
He said some official working in government recently informed him about the use of contraceptives among girls.
The video triggered social media outrage in Kashmir with women seeking strict punishment against the man for character assassination of the girls.
"I have been wanting to talk about this shit for long. Can someone please not shut these people up? For how long shall masjid pulpits be used to character assassinate girls only? For how long shall parents be asked to keep a watch on their daughters and sons be ignored and henceforth allowed to roam like dogs?," posted a girl on social media. "When on earth will these self styled moulvis stop being obsessed with zinah alone and talk about tarbiyat? Talk about social evils. Talk about the root causes leading to zinah? When will these moulvis talk about Casteism that has ruined lives? When will they speak against forced marriages?," she added.
The people of Kashmir have sought action against the cleric.
Meanwhile the district administration of Bandipora has issued a summon asking him to appear before the Sub District Magistrate Sumbal.
"We have issued a summon seeking his personal presence and if he fails to do so, he will be arrested," said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
